From the Woolshed Creek car park the track climbs steeply to pt994 and the point where it joins the ,round-the-mountain, loop track. Head right to summit Mt Somers (117m) or head left for a easy three-day or longer two-day tramp.
The track skirts the western flanks of the mountain before dropping to Woolshed Creek Hut (26 bunks).
It then continues around the northern aspect of the mountain, past the Pinnacle rock formations and to Pinnacles Hut (19 bunks).
Pinnacles Hut is the last hut on the track, leaving a solid 17km walk to reach the start – more if you take the deter to the summit of Mt Somers. The alternative start at Flynns Rd would make the longest day just 13km.
